SHAD ’25 — University of Waterloo

Participant · Unplugged SHAD Canada 54 students · one month at Waterloo

A national STEM summer programme where 54 students spend a month at the University of Waterloo on research projects, enrichment activities and STEM workshops.

Unplugged meant volunteering to spend the month without a smartphone, relying on a flip phone instead.

Worked on helping individuals in rural Canada evacuate efficiently during wildfires.

Logistics team Coffeehouse Community project · 70 guests

Coordinated a murder mystery masquerade party for 70 people, overseeing the project’s 19 members with two others to make sure the event ran smoothly.

Co-Director Variety Night 100+ attendees · ~20 performances

Selected to organise the final evening of the month-long programme — a concert showcasing the talents developed across the month. The event hosted 100+ individuals with around 20 performances across 2.5–3 hours.

QSYS ’25 — Institute for Quantum Computing

Selected participant Quantum School for Young Students University of Waterloo · one week, online

A week-long online summer programme hosted by the Institute for Quantum Computing, where selected high schoolers take part in lectures and discussions covering linear algebra and topics within quantum mechanics.

UBC Geering Up — Summer ’25

Junior Instructor UBC Geering Up 30+ hours · K through Grade 7

Assisted instructors during class time and led one lesson per week across kindergarten, 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 and 6/7 classes — alongside lunch supervision, recess activities, one-to-one support and emergency response.
