International Summer Intern
Haus der Astronomie · Max Planck–affiliated

2026 · ~1 month · Heidelberg, Germany

Selected as 1 of 9 international students, representing Canada, for a research internship at Haus der Astronomie — conducted through a programme operated in partnership with the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy and Heidelberg University.

Proposed and developed an independent research project on satellite contamination of astronomical imaging, resulting in the creation of the Satellite Detection Model, an open-source computational pipeline for predicting satellite interference in astronomical observations.

Worked with Dr. Niall Deacon at MPIA and received mentorship throughout the development of the project, and spoke with Dr. Meredith Rawls of the University of Washington. The project is being continued independently following the internship, with results developed into a research paper and preprint.
